Breaking: Registration for the 2021 Dream League opens April 15th!

Updated: Apr 22, 2021

JVF Hockey is pleased to announce the return of the Dream League!

Less than a year ago, 231 young women created a program that captured the imagination of lacrosse players all over Connecticut. The JVF intends to honor their legacy by offering another program that we feel is missing, and will provide a much needed opportunity for the athletes in our communities.

The 2021 Dream League will be a women's field hockey league for high school students, and raising 8th graders. Each team will play a slate of games, the league will culminate with a single elimination tournament in July.

The application process for the competition will kick off April 15th, with league operations ramping up in late May.

Approved applicants/teams will not be charged a fee to participate, each team will receive a game schedule, insurance, and game pinnes. The JVF will be assigning coaches to each team, however, teams are welcome to appoint their own coach if they deem it necessary.

Each team must be able to fill at least 12 roster spots, and a goalie, the JVF will also seek commitment that each team will be able to attend, and play out the game schedule. Teams will not practice, the league will only provide games. JVF staffers will handle all aspects of each team's operations, including administration, communications, scheduling, and fundraising.

Teams will be selected from the pool of applicants.

The league will be played following an 7v 7 format.

The 2021 Dream League will be a split site competition with league venues in multiple locations. Teams should be prepared to play at neutral sites. The JVF will announce the host venues at the onset of league operations.

For the first time in our history, we are opening one of our competitions to teams from New York, and Massachusetts.

Games will be played on the weekends.

Space is limited, but we will do our best to include as many girls as possible.

It's our hope that the league will help the different programs prepare for the fall, provide a stage for college coaches to attend, give the athletes space to compete, and provide a chance to hang out with friends.

The JVF is going to be hiring volunteers, medical staffers, coaches, referees, administrators, and content creators, if you are interested in working for the Dream League 2021, please contact the JVF via the form on this website!

We are so excited to grow the game of field hockey alongside talented young women, and inspire the generations to come, the JVF will be providing another update ahead of registration opening next month!!

The Dream League 2021 will not officially start the game schedule until the conclusion of the high school spring season in order to give the multi sport athletes of the JVF an opportunity to participate
