JVF North Launches in Groton with Free Youth Field Hockey Clinic

Groton, CT -- The James Vick Foundation is expanding into southeastern Connecticut with JVF North, bringing our mission of accessible youth sports to new communities.
Inspired by the North Star, JVF North represents direction, opportunity, and a pathway forward for young athletes. Our first step begins in Groton, in partnership with the Groton Board of Education and Fitch High School Athletics.
On Saturday, October 24th, we will host a free community field hockey clinic presented by Chelsea Groton Bank at Groton Middle School Turf, immediately following the Fitch vs. Westbrook varsity field hockey game. Come watch the game, then step onto the field!
The clinic welcomes students in grades 3–8 from Groton and surrounding communities, with all skill levels welcome.
Whether picking up a stick for the first time or building existing skills, participants will enjoy an afternoon of learning, competition, and connection.

This clinic marks the beginning of a larger effort to develop sustainable, accessible field hockey opportunities in southeastern Connecticut, including winter and spring programming.
Together with local partners, we want to inspire the next generation of female athletes and build a pathway from their first experience with the sport to continued participation.
We thank the Groton Board of Education, Fitch High School Athletics, Athletic Director Marc Romano, and varsity field hockey coach Diane Kolnaski for helping bring this opportunity to the community.
We are also grateful to Chelsea Groton Bank, our presenting sponsor and first local sponsor supporting JVF North. Their support is an encouraging investment in the young athletes and families we hope to serve throughout the region.
