New Haven, CT — The James Vick Foundation (JVF) is proud to announce plans to offer free basketball and soccer clinics for children at local New Haven elementary schools in Spring 2026.
These clinics represent a return to the roots of the organization. Long before JVF expanded into multiple sports and regional programming, basketball and soccer were the foundation of its work in New Haven, serving children, families, and schools through access-driven, community-based opportunities.

“The James Vick Foundation spent its formative years invested in basketball and soccer for the children of New Haven. It gave us soul and set the table for the organization we have become. We are so excited to partner with the William Caspar Graustein Memorial Fund to provide free basketball and soccer opportunities to this wonderful city yet again.” - Christian Vick, Founder, James Vick Foundation
Through this initiative, JVF aims to create fun, welcoming, and skill-building experiences for young people, while continuing its mission of removing barriers to participation in youth sports.
Clinics will be wide open to children currently in 1st grade through 6th grade.
Registration and location details will be announced in February 2026.Clinics will take place at New Haven area elementary schools.
Elementary schools, physical education teachers, and community partners interested in having their students participate are encouraged to reach out.
