Kylie Gargiulo is the new Goalie Coach for JVF Field Hockey!

The James Vick is pleased to announce that Kylie Garguilo has been appointed as the new Goalie Coach for JVF Field Hockey!!

A Madison native, and graduate student, Kylie is currently finishing up a stellar career at Assumption University, appearing in 61 games over a three year period, including going 13-6 during the 2022 campaign, alongside a 1.60 goal per game clip, that helped lead the ball club to the NCAA'S in Seattle this past fall.

Coach Garguilo will join JVF Field Hockey in January for the winter league, and then coach the JVF Panthers when tournament season ramps up in April!

Alongside Field Hockey Director Kya O'Donnell, and Associate Head Coach Meg Augur, Kylie will play a prominent role in the development of an emerging program as well as advise the growing amount of JVF athletes that want to be recruited, and play college field hockey.

The JVF had the chance to catch up with our brand new ball coach this afternoon!

JVF: How excited are you to join the JVF Field Hockey program?

KG: I am beyond excited to join! I love this sport and I am happy to get the opportunity to share that and grow this sport by teaching younger girls. Everything I heard about JVF has grown my excitement, I hear that in this program you can have fun but everyone still wants to compete and win.

JVF: How will your experience at Assumption help you as our new goalie coach?

KG: My experience at Assumption will help because I played at one of the highest levels in Division 2. I got the opportunity to be coached by an amazing goalie coach who helped unlock the skill I have, he taught me many drills that I still use and look forward to passing on to help better the goalies I will work with.

JVF: How important is it to have a free accessible highly competitive FH program in CT?

KG: It is so important to have a free accessible and competitive program in CT because there are so many clubs where you have to pay thousands of dollars to play, the more you put in then the more they focus on you, the individual, not the team. I wish there was a free program when I was growing up to help grow my skills, connections, and what to expect during the recruiting process.
