Breaking: Kya O'Donnell is the new field hockey director for the JVF!!

CHESHIRE - The JVF is stoked to announce that Kya O'Donnell, one of the very best high school field hockey coaches in Connecticut, has agreed to join #JVFHockey as it's first ever director!


Coach O'Donnell will take over a field hockey program on the rise. Coach will provide oversight for the coaching staff, and lead the JVF Dragons into battle.


O'Donnell's track record as an athlete, coach, volunteer, and advocate is without reproach, the Waterbury native was a three sport athlete and captain at Cheshire high school before going on to Southern Connecticut State University to play her college Field Hockey graduating with a degree in Psychology.


While at SCSU, Coach O'Donnell spect time at Hamden Hall day school as an assistant coach for the Field Hockey and Lacrosse program.



After school, Coach Kya joined the United States Peace Core, traveling to the Philippines to work as an educator for children in need, displaying the deep passion she has for community, and philanthropy!


Recently, Coach O'Donnell has served as the head coach of the Cheshire High School Field Hockey team, leading the Rams to an incredible 13-2 record this past season, and an appearance in the SCC tournament final!


As our field hockey program continues to trend upwards, it was critical that the foundation identify, and bring on board. Coach Kya has the personal and professional experience to really teach our athletes the important of giving back, and growing the sport.



Coach O'Donnell will now prepare for winter training camp next month, meeting with our coaching staff, and our captains in advance of a very exciting time for the program.
