Branford - The James Vick Foundation was informed earlier this week that #JVFHockey captain Lenora Longway (2022) has committed to play for the University of New Haven Chargers. The appointment is the first of it's kind in the #JVFHockey program, Lenora has set the bar for every field hockey player at the JVF.
What a glorious accomplishment for one of our most respected leaders.
Longway is a JVF Field Hockey pioneer, showing up the very first day of the program, and not missing a single practice or tournament in the year since we started the program. Lenora was the captain for the JVF Dragons last spring and summer, where she led the team to exciting, and surprising results, establishing the ball club as a team to watch, and inspiring even more players to join the program in 2022.

In the fall, as a senior captain for the Branford High School Hornets, Lenora led the team a 11-5 record, and a state tournament appearance, while also being recognized as an All-SCC field hockey player.
2021 was a banner year for Longway in the classroom, the theater, and the club/high school level of field hockey, she is so very deserving to experience college field hockey in 2022.
Longway is in this position because she worked for it, she believed in it, and she made it happen. We are blown away by her drive, and her ambition, and we know she is going to make an amazing Charger for the University of New Haven!
